Our Philosophy
There are a thousand and one different ways to raise your kids and keep them healthy. At Gergely Pediatrics, we draw on our vast knowledge of over 25 years of practice and from the latest scientific and cultural literature as we guide you through a challenging, yet thrilling and wonderful experience. Raising children is an enormous responsibility. We are here to make it easier, while constantly reminding you not to forget to enjoy the process!

Who Are Nurse Practitioners?
Nurse practitioners are providers who practice in an advanced role delivering primary care. They have received an advanced degree in the specialty area of pediatrics and adolescence. Nurse practitioners diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications. The pediatrician and nurse practitioners work as a team.
It is important that you and your children get to know and become familiar with all of the providers over time. There are usually two providers available to see patients, allowing us to accommodate daily unscheduled sick calls. If you have not met or been seen by any one provider and would like to do so, please mention it to the receptionist when scheduling your visit.

Dr. Peter Gergely, M.D.
Dr. Peter Gergely hails from Nahant, MA—a tiny island town north of Boston. He attended local public schools until 7th grade, then went to Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, MA from 8th to 12th grades. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, where he was an Art and Biology major. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with Distinction in Biology. He took a year off and bicycled across Europe and then went to Tufts Medical School in Boston, MA. He joined the U.S. Army and trained at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., finishing a three-year residency in pediatrics with a concentration in childhood developmental pediatrics.
He went to West Point, NY for four years as a Captain, then Major, as a pediatrician at Keller Army Hospital. He then fell in love with the lower Hudson Valley and bought a house, opened a practice and here he stayed!
